I Can Clap is a simple echo poem using parts of the body and simple actions. It encourages modelling as a learning tool. Once you have used it a few times, then try making up your own actions with the children, or get the children to make suggestions.  Try and keep a steady beat going as you chant it, to encourage developing rhythm and phrasing. Include everyday items and activities such as water play or sand play.Try it with props, scarves, instruments and more.
